Management and ownership

The estate is currently managed by the Region of Tuscany’s Ente Terre Regionali Toscane.

Throughout the 20th century, the estate changed ownership a number of times before ending up in the hands of the Italian mafia.

In 1983, Giovanni Falcone began the process of sequestering the company Società Agricola Suvignano S.r.l.

In 2007, the sequestration was made final and the estate became property of the Italian government before be given to the Region of Tuscany in 2018.

On 23 June 2019, following the public event “Suvignano Tenuta Aperta”, the estate was returned to the community.
